The Warsaw zoo is a lovely place for a whole family, espacially if you want to keep the kids amused for a couple of hours. It is easily accessed via public transport. There are animals native to Poland, such as otters and brown bears but there are also a number of exotic species, such as chimpanzees, gorillas, elephants, giraffes, rhinoceros and various species of birds. Most animals can be viewed from runways, but they are kept inside the buildings in winter. At the centre of the Zoo is the special 'Fairytale Zoo' (Baśniowe Zoo), where children can stroke the animals and feed them carrots and apples. There is also a large, modern playground. There is a special weekend bus line no 444 connect the ZOO and Copernicus Center.
Opening hours: 9.00 - 18.00
