Lovely located Biergarten right in the middle of the Tiergarten park, with a splended view over the Neuen lake. This place is definately best when the weather is nice and kids can run around in the garden. The menu is a bit traditional: German dishes, pizzas, pasta and cakes. A bit overpriced but you are also paying for the picturesque location. Worth a visit!
Kindermuseum MACHmit (JOINin Children's Museum) is an amazing children's museum located in a old converted church. They have a monthly programme and the displays and hands on activities are based around the current exhibits. There is also a permanent hands-on exhibit of an old fashioned soap shop where children can play with an old till and scales and weights, plus a printing press and a mirror cabinet.
The Britzergarten is a very large expanse of gardens with multiple playgrounds that are simply world class. A clay village playground called "Makunaima" features massive interactive sculptures made of cob (clay and sand.) After the kids are finished climbing, sliding, and running around the village there is a hands on workshop where they can make their own cob sculptures. On the other side of the park there is a water playground that is best enjoyed in the warmer months.
