Cafe Kreuzzwerg is a brilliant kinder cafe close to Mehringdamm U bahn station and a popular meet up place for expat mums. The cafe is spread over a number of rooms offering different play experiences from a big wooden ship and play kitchen in the main room behind the front cafe section to a ball room and a playroom with tubes and slides. It is a clean and chilled out place and there is no charge for children to play plus the waffles are great! On sunny days there is also a small playground in the centre of the square outside.
Yoli frozen yoghurt shops in Berlin (there are three at the moment) are the first froyo outlets in the city. Their froyo is delicious and you can chose from loads of different toppings to customise your sundae. The decor is also really cool. My son enjoyed the milkshake with three fruit toppings whizzed into the yoghurt. It is well worth a pitstop on a hot day. They also have really funky elephant shaped seats for children. This outlet is close to the Natural History Museum. Their website has details of the other locations.
This is a little pocket of the most perfect part of France. Lovely Frenchmen, passionate about cheese and bread; an amazing selection of cheese and hams and the icing on the cake, the best baguette I have eaten outside of France. They have a small outside seating area but the inside is lovely and cosy in colder days. An added bonus, despite the small nature of the toilet, is a large fold against the wall changing table. Great place to introduce your kids to cheese.
Familycafé with brunch on weekends (8,90 € for adults). There's an indoor play area and classes with baby massage. They have daily specials, the day we stopped by we had a piece of quiche with salade. They have very nice and clean changing facilities and many high chairs so there will be no fighting for them!
Cozy café for the whole family with an indoor playroom for the small ones plus a second-hand-shop with clothing for children of all ages and mothers-to-be. Situated in the heart of Schöneberg near the Volkspark. On the menu, you will find shakes, juice, light meals and cakes.
Lovely located Biergarten right in the middle of the Tiergarten park, with a splended view over the Neuen lake. This place is definately best when the weather is nice and kids can run around in the garden. The menu is a bit traditional: German dishes, pizzas, pasta and cakes. A bit overpriced but you are also paying for the picturesque location. Worth a visit!
This wonderful café in Friedrichshain has everything parents and children can hope for when going out for lunch, brunch or an early dinner. Here you will find homemade food, a big play room, high chairs in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. If the kids need some fresh air, there is a big playground just across the street.
This nice café is perfect for children and families for a little break before entering the lovely area of Prenzlauerberg. Enjoy lunch here in the hidden little garden during summertime. Situated by the Schönhauser Allee U-bahn station.
A bit alternative second hand shop and café for families. They sell also new clothing, shoes and decoration. They have many several German brands like fx. BATATA. The second hand department sells children's clothing. In summer time, they have outdoor seating and plenty of high chairs. You will also find different classes like music and gymnastic for babies. See website for program.
