Katrin's Summer: Sweden, Stockholm & St Malo
The summer is officially here by entering the month of June.......which also means that the big summer vacation is just around the corner. Therefore, we will be giving you lots of inpsiration and tips to big and small summer destinations from our fantastic insiders and experienced family travellers.
1. Where are you going and who are going with you?
I am going to Sweden in July with my family; my husband Greg and our two sons Nils and Sven. In August, we generally go a couple of weeks to my father’s summer house close to Fréjus at the French Riviera.
2. Where are you staying and for how long?
We are going to stay in Stockholm for a week and we will also visit my brother and his family in Gothenburg for a couple of days. We have furthermore planned to spend a week-end at Kolmården, Scandinavia’s largest wildlife park with exciting experiences for all ages, and their beautiful hotel “Vildmarkshotellet”.
3. What’s your favorite summer vacation memory with the kids?
One of my favorite summer vacation memories with the kids is some lazy days in beautiful Deauville in Normandy with fantastic days on the beach with pony riding, pick-nicking, building sand castles, and swimming in the sea…
4. Can you recommend a nice country, city or hotel for other families?
I would definitively recommend Sweden with its endless possibilities for the whole family, with its beautiful and stunning nature, charming and cozy restaurants, rich offer of activities and museums for all ages, as well as kids friendly infrastructure and hotels overall. All this together make Sweden a nice family get-away!
5. What’s the recipe for the perfect summer vacation with kids?
Choose a summer destination that will please the whole family and just take time to be together with the kids; play and do some activities with no musts, no stress and work in the thoughts!
